WHAT MAKES DRAMA CLUB UNIQUE?
Drama Club is a student-lead creative arts group, focused on individual development of on and off stage creativity, inclusive of all confidence levels and a focus on developing original work.
Theatre company experiences can be high pressure, intimidating and suited to the extraverted ‘more confident’ student who always ‘get the part.’
Drama Club isn’t about putting the best at the front, it is an opportunity for young aspiring creatives of all confidence levels to explore the world of dramatic art on and off the stage or screen without the restriction of doing ‘what the director wants’. While it is a skill to take direction, ‘stick to the script’ and ‘be more like the character,’ Drama Club is about creating the character and the script.
Drama Club explores all aspects of creativity within the field of dramatic art, not just working on ‘the next production,’ but creating original work and coming up with the production, both on stage and on screen. Students learn tricks of the trade in acting for film and for theatre, as well as discovering the world of behind the scenes roles, all of which encourage originality and creativity.
